FYI:
According to knowyourmeme.com : “Gangnam Style” is a Korean neologism mainly associated with upscale fashion and lavish lifestyle associated with trendsetters in Seoul’s Gangnam district (강남), which is considered the most affluent part of the metropolitan area. In colloquial usage, it is comparable to the English slang terms “swag” or “yolo”.

Trivia:
It's sometimes referred to as the " Condom Gundam Style" LOL

Tekken for Dummies... #GeekModeOn

Disclaimer: I'm not a Tekken God, I just love Tekken so much! So you can troll me all you want!! #GeekModeOn LOL

Actually, I wasn't really fond of playing Tekken before! Whenever I go to Timezone, I only play basketball, "rail-shooters" (e.g. House of the Dead, Time Crisis ) and racing games (Grand Prix, Daytona).. but never Tekken or Streetfighter. I just can't understand why moving around the joystick and pressing the buttons randomly makes the game enjoyable, not until several years later when I fully understood the concept of the game that I began to love it.

Tekken's actually about strategy, timing and accuracy.

5 Easy Steps to Play!!

First: Select your character

Meet my character: Zafina!

You have to know the profile of each character in Tekken to make it easier for you to choose your own characters. This is important because whoever character you choose, you will have to learn to love them. Can't get the picture? Imagine this, your character is like your significant other. You invest time, money and emotions on them. So you should really love your character, might as well choose one who looks really appealing to you right? LOL!

Second: Know your Character

You have to master the moves of your character. Know how to strike, block, parry, and juggle. You think it's easy? Maybe for some but believe it or not, it takes time to research about your character's move combinations. Some players even watch videos such as Tekken tournaments in youtube coz it helps them understand and visualize more about their character's movements.(I'm guilty with this! LOL)

I also used visuals BTW!! (thanks Jaycee.. haha)

Zafina Juggle

Third: Know your Opponent

Aside from mastering your character's movements, you have to also know the moves of your opponent so you'd know when and how to block or parry their offensive strikes. Believe me, even if you've mastered all the combos and juggles of your character, but you don't know how to block the strikes of your opponent... You'd definitely die before you actually hit them! At first i thought if a player knows how to juggle, he's already considered great... but I was wrong. Great players are determined based on their defense.

Fourth: Practice

Practice makes perfect! playing Tekken is a skill, that's why it requires constant practice to improve and achieve consistency. I actually played Tekken 6 in PSP to practice the juggles and then play hours in the arcade.

Fifth: Learn from the Experts

This is very very important! Stop playing with the WEAKLINGS! They will probably learn from you but you will never improve! You have to go out there and look for people who love the game. Watch them play and then challenge them. This will push you to excel more and make you a better gamer.

So, Are you ready to play?

Better yet... Let's bet on it!! =P

GET READY FOR THE NEXT CHALLENGE!!!

If you think I missed out anything... Feel free to post your feedback! Like I said, I'm not a Tekken God!!

Who is Tobi?? #Naruto #GeekModeOn

Yes!! I read Manga and the latest Naruto manga's driving all of us crazy!!

Tobi's real identity on the Table!!

Spoiler Disclaimer: If you haven't read the latest Naruto Manga yet, STOP READING! CONSIDER YOURSELF WARNED!! #Naruto

 from takingatour2.deviantart.com

#SpoilerDisclaimer

Who is Tobi? It says he's Obito but I find it illogical!

Here's Why:

1. Obito was too young when Tobi fought Minato... It's impossible for Obito to suddenly grow that tall and that strong to match Minato!!!

2. Tobi also didn't know Minato when they fought! Obito was Minato's student. He should know his own teacher right?

After extensive research and open discussions about this, we've come to a conclusion that TOBI IS NOT OBITO!!

TOBI is IZUNA!!!

Kabuto was able to raise the most powerful ninjas except for those who were permanently sealed... So why was he unable to raise Izuna, given that history claims that Izuna is as powerful as Uchiha Madara (and he was not permanently sealed)?

In addition to that, the only person who knows everything about Madara other that himself, is his own brother, Izuna.

Not Unless... OBITO is IZUNA

Did anyone else notice that Obito and Izuna shares the same birthday? February 10! Hmmmmm....

Watch This!!

Based my theory on Kishi's interview (tinyurl.com/bvqn6wg):

Question: The legendary shinobi is now immortal! Does Uchiha Madara have any weak point?
Kishi: All strong people have some kind of weak point, but Madara does not. How will the fight from here on out go!? Please stay excited and wait to find out!!

Question: I’m curious about the connection between Madara and Tobi!
Kishi
: I obviously can’t give too many details, but the two do know each other. What kind of relation they have will be gradually revealed in the current story!!

Question: Will Tobi’s identity be revealed soon…!?
Kishi: Indeed it will. In fact, it should be within the next few weeks!! Everyone, please wait and keep predicting until then!!

Question: How will Naruto and Sasuke’s story proceed now?
Kishi: I think that they will meet up once again during this war. Please look forward to seeing what will happen then!

Question: Now that we’ve entered the climax of the Great Shinobi World War arc, please tell us what some upcoming highlights will be!
Kishi: Everything from here on out will be a highlight!! Everything’s just going to get more and more exciting!! Everyone’s favorite characters will gather together to play a big part!! Please continue enjoying Naruto now that the Great Shinobi World War is in its climax!

Let's see if we're right! Can't wait for the next manga release next Wednesday!!

But I must say, Kishimoto is a true genius!!! =P

Dana White Announces UFC 151 Cancellation

Due to insistent public demand... Here's the official announcement from UFC president Dana White regarding the cancellation of UFC 151...

FYI: It's Jones vs Belfort for UFC 152.. Machida turned down the title shot!

Kanin Club... Filipino Dining at Its Best!

Since my cousin Ting-Ting hasn't visited Filipino restaurants for a long time... (well she said Filipino food in the states doesn't taste that authentic), my cousin Roxy decided to bring us to Kanin Club in Ayala Triangle Gardens!

I was actually hesitant at first going there coz I was like thinking that everything in the menu has "kanin" which means "carbo-overload" in girls world and we have like a few days before the wedding! But anyway, we went... and I had no regrets!!

The place was just small but cozy and the restaurant's interior is very Filipino.

Food was awesome especially the "Crispy Dinuguan"! (I can eat it like forever!! LOL!). If this is the first time you've heard about crispy dinuguan, I'm pretty sure you'll be very much surprised when you taste it.. believe me!! Even their "Sinangag na Sinigang" rice was very tasteful... you can eat it without any viand seriously!

Anyway, Here's what we ordered:

Ensaladang Mangga wih Salted Egg

 Crispy Dinuguan

Binukadkad na Tilapia

Boneless Daing na Bangus

Sinangag na Sinigang

Fresh Ripe Mango

Sago't Gulaman

I'd definitely come back here to try more of their dishes! Food here is great and affordable! Try it!!

Plana Forma... I Love!

Heard about the latest craze in the metro? Plana FORMA!!!

Yes i enrolled in Muay Thai a few weeks back and now I'm trying Plana! ( Things you do when you wanna stay fit and healthy! Haha! )

So what is Plana FORMA? When i first heard about it I thought it was just like a modern yoga but it's actually more than that. Plana FORMA brings together yoga, pilates and dance!

I was actually thinking twice when my cousins invited me to try it. "I'm already doing Muay Thai so what's the point of learning Plana?" (yes, I sometimes talk to myself... LOL). But well, eventually I gave in!

First thing I asked my cousin was "What's the outfit in Plana"? LOL! I packed my leggings and workout shirts... non-slip socks ( Plana sells socks BTW!) coz shoes or any footwear is not allowed.. then off we went to the Plana Studio in The Fort. The studio's very cozy, It has a sala where you can sit to relax and read books or magazines while having coffee. It also has a Havainas stall where you can shop for Plana outfits. 2 rooms are available to facilitate Plana Classes and a shower room where your lockers are also located. By the way, Face towels are also free to use here!

Plana Room

Planaforma also provides the equipments you will use for your workout:
  • Mats
  • Playground ball
  • Karate band
  • Weights (2 to 10 lbs)
  • Cushions
  • Stall Bar
  • Yoga Mats

Plana socks you can buy for 300 pesos

Our class was for Beginners but my cousins were already making fun of me telling me I won't last an hour! Well, they were wrong... Hahaha!! At first it was easy coz it's more of like warming up and stretching but as time progresses.. it gets harder and harder. It's also a challenge to execute the proper posture and alignment of movements. Forma class helps you target in toning  bicep, tricep, shoulders, chest and back muscles and then focuses on the thighs, seat and abdominal muscles . It complements all other physical activities you're engaged in (In my case, Muay Thai). Benefits: increased lung capacity and metabolic rate, improved body awareness and posture, increased bone density, stronger core and back muscles which reduces lower back pains, and better stress management. Each class is different so you will never get bored! Their featured class for this week is "Zumba Fitness" by the way.

If you want to be toned and sexy... Do Plana!! =P

    Muay Thai Day One

If you've read my previous posts you would already know that I'm an MMA fanatic and it's a dream come true for me to learn all the styles of combat fighting. So to start my quest, I enrolled myself to Muay Thai and Boxing 2 weeks ago!

It's actually not easy to find a gym to train. I remembered a friend once told me that having the "will" and "passion" to learn MMA is not enough to be a good fighter. You have to find a very good trainer to be one. So I've spent several hours researching online about the best gyms in my area that offers Muay Thai and boxing classes.

After several hours of searching, I found the Yellow Corner Boxing gym in BF. Lucky for me I have a friend who's also interested in boxing so I have someone I could bring along to check it out. Yellow Corner is situated in BF Homes Parañaque near Starbucks Coffee and Pancake House, so it's easy to find plus their rates were also affordable. Yellow Corner is also a member of PMAP and their lead Trainer is like the president of PMAP chapter in Parañaque.

    Yellow Corner BF

First day of our training we were introduced to our Muay Thai trainer, Mel (short for Melchor) and he instructed us to address him as "Khru" Mel instead of coach. He taught us how to do our "hand wraps" which is seriously not an easy thing to do coz you have to follow a certain pattern and pressure on the wrap for it to fit perfectly. Khru Mel even said that other gyms don't even teach their students how to do hand wraps, forgot to ask why though. After we're finished with the hand wraps, we're now ready to TRAIN!!!

    Handwraps

    grabbed from sylviemuay.wordpress.com

FIrst lesson: How to do the "Wai"

"Wai" is a common greeting in Thailand and in many far east countries and its just the equivalent of a hand shake or showing respect to somebody you are greeting. Khru Mel said that we have to do a Wai at the beginning and at the end of each lesson, or every time we see our instructor for the first time at the gym.

Second Lesson: Know your fighting stance (Orthodox or Unorthodox)

An orthodox stance is one where your left leg and left hand are the lead. With this stance, your power punches and kicks will typically come from the right side. If you are unorthodox fighter, your right leg and right hand will be the lead and your power will come from the left. If you are not sure which stance to take, try both and see which one feels more natural.

Third Lesson: Basic Muay Thai Strikes

Muay Thai is reffered to as the 'Art of Eight Limbs" because it makes use of punches, kicks, elbows and knee strikes, thus using eight "points of contact".

There is a very well known saying regarding Muay Thai techniques.

‘Kick loses to punch, punch loses to knee, knee loses to elbow, elbow loses to kick’

So here's our Muay Thai Day 1 Lesson.. Can't Wait for Day 2!!
