Mixed Martial Arts... I Love!!

Those people close to me knows that I super love UFC that's why I badly wanna learn Mixed Martial Arts (MMA).

They say that to be a true Mixed Martial Artist, you must learn many forms of fighting styles, such as jiu jitsu, Boxing, Judo, Wrestling, Karate and Muay Thai Kick Boxing. 


I've been researching online recently about different types of fighting styles i can enroll in and here are my top choices:

Muay Thai

This fighting style originated in Thailand and is a forerunner in hand and feet striking, as well as viscious knee and elbow attacks. Anderson Silva, Wanderlei Silva, Mauricio Rua, Thiago Silva, Gina Carano and Cristiane Santos employ a broad range of tactics born of Muay Thai. According to Hansen Bay with Grace Yip  (Sports Psychologist), " the practice of Muay Thai helps to simultaneously refine one’s mind, body and spirit."




Why I like this:

It doesn't only involve physical training, it also teaches you the importance of meditation and visualization amongst others. 

Boxing

Boxing, as defined by wiki, is a martial art and combat sport in which two people engage in a contest of strength, reflexes, and endurance by throwing punches at an opponent with the goal of a knockout with gloved hands.


Why I like this: 


They say "Boxing will give you results". Weight loss, increased agility and coordination, muscle tone and greater fitness all result from boxing. It's a cardio work-out for the whole body. It's especially good for toning muscles, which is perfect for women like me who want to lose weight around their bottom and thighs as part of an overall reduction programme.

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu

It is a fighting style that consists of grappling and striking techniques and was said to have originated in Japan. So why should women grapple? Grappling technique is based on leverage and not strength. It shows that you do not have to be the biggest or strongest to beat someone. As long as you learn to apply the techniques in different combinations and orientation and execute them flawlessly, there's no doubt girls can kick guys asses.




Why I like this:

It shows the value of women empowerment, teaches endurance and determination plus it also develops one's confidence.
